Our captains

Meet the skippers

1’s Bill Jenkin

Bill is the heart and soul of Lower. He first played in the under 12s and has now played 353 matches for Lower and in three premierships. He’s returning for an eighth season as captain of the 1s where he’s won 5 batting awards. Bill’s super excited about the new players at the club and aiming to win a premiership, but ultimately he wants to lead the way and make sure the 1s set the standard for the club both on and off the field. Why does Bill love Lower? It’s the people who make the place so much more than a cricket club.

2’s Travis ‘Bunny’ Lambert

Travis started in the under 14s and has gone on to play 198 matches for Lower. He’s also played in two premierships including the 2025/26 2s flag. This will be his first year as captain and he’s keen to make sure the 2s consolidate their promotion to B Grade, drive Lower’s family culture and provide the right balance between seriousness and fun; especially for the  young players.

3's Joshua Hodgskiss

Hodgy has over 30 years of cricket experience which includes being a founding member at Laurimar Cricket Club. A straight shooter who will always have his team’s back, he also has a great sense of humour. Entering his third season at Lower, he’s taking on the captaincy because he has a passion for helping young players develop the physical and mental skills they need to get the most out of playing cricket.

4's Cameron Snooks

Cam is a member of our coaching team (see coaching profile) and is super excited about also steering our 4XI ship. This season the 4XI are playing in the highest grade of a new all one day game DVCA competition, and Cam is keen to make sure the team sets the standard for how to play one day cricket.

5’s Jordie Campbell

PE teacher Jordie joined lower in 2018 and has played 81 senior matches as a determined top order batter. His goal is to ensure an enjoyable, competitive cricket experience for all players both young and seasoned. He’s keen to continue the great tradition of young players progressing from the 5s to higher grades through a positive, nurturing environment. He hasn’t yet bowled a ball for Lower and says that’s not going to change just because he’s captain!
